This article will assist you with factory resetting your Polycom phone and prepare it for Vantage Unified services.

Step-by-step guide

Plug in the phone and boot completely

SoundPoint IP Models

  1. Press the Menu button
  2. Scroll and Select Settings
  3. Scroll and Select Advanced
  4. Ensure the header of the display shows Password (1/Ascii)
    1. If not, press the 1/A/a button until the header shows Password (1/Ascii)
  5. Enter 456 and Press Enter
  6. Scroll and Select Admin Settings
  7. Scroll and Select Reset to Default
  8. Scroll and Select Reset Local Config
  9. Press Yes
  10. The phone will reboot
  11. Once the phone has rebooted, Press the Menu button
  12. Scroll and Select Settings
  13. Scroll and Select Advanced
  14. Ensure the header of the display shows Password (1/Ascii)
    1. If not, press the 1/A/a button until the header shows Password (1/Ascii)
  15. Enter 456 and Press Enter
  16. Scroll and Select Admin Settings
  17. Scroll and Select Reset to Default
  18. Scroll and Select Reset Local Config
  19. Press Yes
  20. The phone will reboot
  21. If your extension is not displayed on the phone, follow the steps in the Manually Provision a Polycom Phone Knowledge Article

VVX Models

  1. Press the Home button
  2. Scroll and Select Settings
  3. Scroll and Select Advanced
  4. Ensure the header of the display shows Password (123)
    1. If not, press the Mode button and Select 123
  5. Enter 456 and Press Enter
  6. Scroll and Select Administration Settings
  7. Scroll and Select Reset to Defaults
  8. Scroll and Select Reset Local Configuration
  9. Press Yes
  10. The phone will reboot
  11. Once the phone has rebooted, Press the Home button
  12. Scroll and Select Settings
  13. Scroll and Select Advanced
  14. Ensure the header of the display shows Password (123)
    1. If not, press the Mode button and Select 123
  15. Enter 456 and Press Enter
  16. Scroll and Select Admin Settings
  17. Scroll and Select Reset to Defaults
  18. Scroll and Select Format File System
  19. Press Yes
  20. The phone will reboot
