Supported VoIP devices can be automatically provisioned using DHCP Options.  This is beneficial in all deployments.

 

Contact Customer Care to receive your provisioning server settings before proceeding.

Step-by-step guide

Complete the following steps to properly configure your Cisco device.

  1. Connect into the device using a Serial cable, Telnet, or SSH
  2. Enter EXEC mode
  3. Enter Configuration mode
  4. Find your DHCP scope name by typing the following command
    1. show ip dhcp pool
  5. Type the following commands
    1. ip dhcp pool <pool name from Step 4>
    2. If using Cisco Phones type the following command
      1. option 150 ip <IP Address(es) provided by Customer Care>
    3. If using Polycom Phones type the following command
      1. option 160 ascii <URL provided by Customer Care>
  6. Exit Configuration mode
  7. Save the Running Configuration by typing the following command
    1. copy running-config startup-config
  8. Restart your VoIP device(s)
