Vantage Unified has found that Green Ethernet, on some Cisco devices, may cause unexpected behavior on VoIP devices.  This includes, but not limited to, call drops, phone restarts, and lack of dial tone.

Step-by-step guide

Complete the following steps to disable Green Ethernet.  Note: These images may differ from the current version of software.

  1. Log into the device’s web configuration utility
  2. Select Port Management, Green Ethernet, Properties
  3. Uncheck the Following Settings (where applicable)
    1. Energy Detect Mode
    2. Short Reach
    3. 802.3 Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE)
  4. Click Apply
