Create Build supports the following assessment types:

  • Test: Instructional support (hints, explanations) must be manually configured during assignment setup.
  • Practice Test: Automatically displays hints and explanations if available. 
  • Survey: Surveys include background questions (multiple choice or short answer). All of the responses are added as attributes to the user’s profile.

Creating a Test

  1. Click on the Tests tab or Create > Test. Click the Create button. Type Test 
  2. Click Image Addedat the top and choose from the type of tests shown: Test, Survey, Practice. Select Test. 
  3. Under the Test Info tab/section, enter the necessary details for the test.
  4. In the 'Directions' field field, enter instructions the students need to follow for the particular test. The font and format of the text may be formatted using the custom tools available right above the editor.
  5. Blueprint:
  6. Default Report: Choose either Standard, Pathway, or Writing Report
  7. Release Status: Choose 'Draft' If you would like to save the test to make changes later. Choosing the 'Published' status makes the test available for students to take.
  8. Active/Inactive:
  9. Adding Items to the Test: 
    1. Click on the Items tab/section on top. The filters (Bank, Item Type, Categories, filter ) at the top can be used to make a more specific search. Click on 'Apply' to narrow down search results and 'Refresh' to start over.
    2. A list of available items Available Items are displayed on the left. To add items to the test being created, click on the + sign. Click on 'Move All' to add all the items to the test, shown under 'Selected Items' on the right.
    3. To remove an item from the selected items Selected Items list, click on 'x' . 'Reset' removes all items from the 'Selected Items" list. To preview a selected item, click on . on the magnifying glass. Selected items can be reordered if needed by clicking and dragging the item up or down.
  10. Preview Test: a simulated preview of what the test actually looks like. This is helpful to see the order in which the items are displayed, whether corresponding questions are too similar, etc.
  11. Click Save to create the test.
